ABOUT ME

“Carrots grow from carrot seeds, I planted one to grow. I watered it, I pulled the weeds. Carrots grow from carrot seeds.” –Ruth Krauss

Welcome, I’m Chana Grossman (or just Hana for anyone wondering what to do with the ‘c’).  Every spring I used to grow a vegetable garden with my three little boys who are now 6, 8, and 12. We found a perfect spot in our backyard that has just the right amount of light. As a mom I know this experience is not just about growing our garden. It’s about the care and love we put into raising our children into compassionate, caring human beings. It’s about how much hard work and patience it takes to do this, but also about how rewarding we hope it will become.

The artist in me knows that you are working your hardest to grow the most magnificent carrot you can. The artist in me also knows that the steps you take along the way to this great carrot are fleeting—that mispronunciation of the word ‘truck’ will fade away, that image of your kids’ tiny feet in your oversized shoes will be forgotten, that small window of time where your kid asks to wash the dishes because it’s was ‘fun’ will disappear.

It’s my job to capture your carrots as they’re growing, to authentically and artistically stop the clock for just a while and preserve your family in the most genuine way possible so you can cherish the details that can be so hard to remember.

I am looking forward to using my 20 years of experience in the creative field, and my over five years in the photography business to capture your family… just the way they are. I promise to honor each family member’s unique personality, and make you feel as comfortable and natural as possible. I have a passion for creating artistic, timeless photographs of your family that are time capsules for you to look back on in the future.
