New York is such a Beautiful Place! Where to have your Photo session?–Leave it up to your Photographer!

Location options in Long Island, NY and surrounding areas

You have enough to worry about after you have booked your perfect photographer. Finding the perfect wardrobe for you and your family. Convincing you grumpy teen that it’ll be fun. Gathering all the snacks, baby gear, diapers, wipes and favorite toys, and most importantly getting mom ready. One thing that you DON’T have to worry about is WHERE you should go. I’ve had so many clients ask me if I have any location suggestions, and in fact I actually INSIST on the locations that I have scouted and curated. I want to walk into a shoot confident that I know where the best light is, and know that I have lots of options to move around.

While you should leave the location scouting up to the professionals, the TYPE of location is really up to you, and there are so many great options in Long Island and New York City!

State Parks:

There are so many state parks that I can’t even count them on one hand!  All the parks that I go to have streams or lakes and awesome trees with fall leaves!

Beautiful Beaches:

Long Island is FILLED with beaches that have beautiful sunsets! This location is often asked for during the summer, but is a classic all year round (yes, even in the winter if you can brave the cold)!

Marshlands:

There are lots of Marshlands located all over New York that offer a unique backdrop for family portraits. It also gives the kids time to explore all the wildlife in the area. Ive met a few turtles, ducks, rabbits and some interesting birds!

Urban City

Love the city, the bridges, the buildings? This location is for you! Urban shoots give you a variety of backdrops and a modern vibe!

Any location would be amazing, and always keep in mind that you and your family should always be the focus!
